OWF is pleased to announce that Northwestern University is now an institutional member of the American Association of University Women.

AAUW is an advocacy group dedicated to furthering the education of women and girls all over the world. AAUW's Web site, http://www.aauw.org/, holds an impressive collection of activist guides, proprietary research, funding opportunities and links on women's issues in the U.S. and elsewhere.

AAUW Funding Highlights

American Fellowships:
Multiple fellowships are available to both women graduate students and faculty, with awards ranging from $6,000 to $30,000. The deadline for 2005 applications is November 15.

University Scholar-in-Residence Grants:
Available to women faculty conducting research on gender and equity, these awards are for up to $100,000 for a two-year project, depending on the nature of the work. The deadline for notification of intent for the AAUW "Scholar in Residence" grant is December 1, 2005. Full proposals are due February 1, 2006.

Emerging and Senior Scholar Awards:
Candidates must be nominated by faculty from their own institution. Nominations must be received by February 10, 2005.
