Founded in 1981, the Northwestern University Organization of Women Faculty (OWF) has long been a national leader in its efforts to improve conditions in higher education for women faculty and graduate students. Both an advocacy group and a networking resource, OWF offers women faculty at all institutional levels an opportunity to be heard and to help shape University policy.

As part of its ongoing efforts to promote diversity and equitable treatment for all faculty across the University, OWF:

• Holds open discussions of current university policy and practice, examining how both may (or may not) foster an institutional culture that promotes diversity and supports equitable treatment for men and women faculty.

• Gives voice to concerns specific to women faculty, alerting the University administration to opportunities for improving gender equity and diversity across the organization.

• Provides networking and social opportunities for women faculty from all disciplines and ranks within the University to meet and exchange ideas.

OWF welcomes new faculty and graduate students to join us online and at our meetings. OWF also encourages interested male faculty to attend and participate in our deliberations.
